ESD Epoxy Coated Tweezers

Ideal-tek Anti-Magnetic Stainless steel or Carbon precision tweezers feature a black ESD-safe Epoxy coating with a surface resistivity of 10^5–10^6 Ohm, tested and verified up to 120°C.
The elastic Epoxy Coating also resists impact and the majority of diluted acids and alkalis, and inhibits oxidation on the underlying steel body, extending tip life under the repeated handling cycles typical of high-volume electronic assembly.

ESD EPOXY FULL BODY COATED CUTTING TWEEZERS
Superior precision cutting edges in High Grade Carbon Steel complete the slim and tapered design of these tweezers covered with ESD Epoxy coating to inhibit oxidation and extend overall tool life.
Easy to clean and maintain, Ideal-tek ESD cutting tweezers are offered in a variety of styles (including angled blades, predominantly angled blades and parallel blades) to cover a wide range of requirements and applications in medical device industry. The applications include cutting soft wires in copper, gold, silver as well as magnetic wires and hard hairsprings, and precision work in narrow spaces.

Coating, resistivity, and application of ESD tweezers

Surface resistivity is the variable that defines where a tweezer can be safely deployed: the higher the value, the slower and more controlled the discharge.

ESD surface/ grip option ESD rating Recommended use
ESD Epoxy Coated Tweezers 10^5-10^6 Ω ESD-safe precision handling with enhanced comfort, impact resistance and resistance to diluted acids and alkalis. Also available on full-body coated cutting tweezers for precision cutting of soft wires, magnetic wires and hard hairsprings.
ESD Diamond Coated Tweezers DC 10^4 Ω Tip-coated tweezers for hard materials, critical components and high-use applications requiring wear, corrosion and contamination resistance.
ESD Rubber Grip Tweezers DR 10^9 Ω Ergonomic rubber grip tweezers for ESD-sensitive components, small static items, clean rooms and controlled environments.
ESD Foam Grip Tweezers DN 10^8 Ω Soft foam grip tweezers for repetitive picking and positioning in electronics, instrumentation, specimen preparation and laboratories.

Ideal-tek's black ESD epoxy coating is rated 10^5–10^6 Ω, placing it in the static-dissipative range for controlled handling of ESD-sensitive components in electronic assembly, inspection, and sorting processes.
The same coating is also used on selected cutting tweezers, where ESD protection is combined with blade geometries designed specifically for precision cutting rather than general handling.

Why certification matters beyond the coating

Anti-static performance is only part of what a quality or process engineering team is actually evaluating when selecting ESD tools for a regulated line. Process control and product consistency carry equal weight, which is where manufacturer certification becomes the differentiator. Ideal-tek holds both ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, the latter specific to medical device manufacturing, meaning the same precision and ESD-safety standards applied here to electronics assembly tools are validated under the more demanding requirements of medical device production. It's a distinction only a handful of dual-certified tweezers manufacturers can claim simultaneously.

ESD Tweezers applications

Ideal-tek ESD Epoxy Coated Tweezers are used in environments where electrostatic control and corrosion resistance both need to hold up over years of use, not just on day one:
  • Electronic component assembly
  • Cleanroom and controlled-environment handling
  • Microscopy sample preparation
  • Sorting
  • Watchmaking
  • General laboratory work
  • Biological and medical device applications
  • Precision cutting of soft and magnetic wires, including hairsprings, in narrow working spaces
